Chemical Grouting
Chemical grouting helps turn granular soils into sandstone-like masses through permeation with a low-viscosity grout. The typical method used in chemical grouting includes the following steps:
A sleeve port pipe is grouted into a predrilled hole.
Under pressure, the grout is injected through port pipes.
The grout then permeates the soil and solidifies it into a sandstone-like mass.
The grouted soil has become stiffer and stronger, and is now less permeable.
Chemical grouting has been used for the following:
Creating excavation support walls
Creating water cutoff walls
Underpinning existing foundations
Preparing soils for tunneling
