Helical Pulldown Micropiles in Chicagoland

When soil testing determines the need for a deep foundation, a Helical Pulldown Micropile (HPDM) System may be the most cost effective deep pile for your project. Atlas Restoration will do an analysis of the soil testing data and soil report to determine if the HPDM system is right for your new construction project. HPDM utilizes a series of displacement plates attached at each helical pile extension to create a space for a grout column around the square bar helical shaft. The cement grout is installed with the pile and the grout is pulled down with the helical pile. The result is a higher capacity pile system that is most beneficial when there are zones of soft organics or other low blow count weak soils. This pile eliminates the need for a more costly tubular micro pile or round shaft helical pile.

Why Use Helical Pulldown Micropiles

Installing Helical Pulldown Micropiles to your foundation can offer many benefits including:

  • Resistance to buckling in weak soil
  • Additional corrosion protection in aggressive soils
  • Stiffer pile
  • High capacity
  • Cost-effective
  • High speed: 10-20 piles per day/per crew

The team at Atlas Restoration will evaluate your project site conditions and provide you with the appropriate solution.
